Gazal Vakili is a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP and CCRC) with 6+ years of experience in the clinical research industry and 2+ years of management. She has worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator, Clinical Research Manager, Managing Editor of a Canadian clinical trials magazine, and in clinical data management at Everest Clinical Research Services. She is currently working at Cynapsus Therapeutics. She has completed an undergraduate degree in Biology and Psychology from York University and a Masters of Health Sciences in Clinical Research Administration from George Washington University. She is an active member of SOCRA/ACRP/and CRAC.
After completing a Master of Science degree in Human Health & Nutritional Sciences from the University of Guelph, Carla completed the Certified Clinical Research Associate program at McMaster University. She currently works at Nutrasource Diagnostics Inc in Guelph as the Associate Director of the clinical trials unit where she combines her academic background in nutrition and natural health products with her postgraduate training in clinical research.
Annette’s clinical research experience spans over 10 years working in central lab, quality assurance and project management. She has worked with Phase I-IV clinical trials in both pharma and CRO companies. After completing her BSc. in Biology at York University, she pursued a post-graduate certificate in Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs at Seneca College. She currently works as a Clinical Research Associate. Annette looks forward to meeting many of you at the future events being planned for CRAC!
Preetam Vanamala received his Bachelor’s degree in Dental Sciences from the Mysore University (Bapuji Dental College and Hospital)India in the year 1995 and his Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Research from the Naipt Institute at Toronto in the year 2013, Canada. Preetam has over 5 years’ experience as a dental clinician and a tutor along with 3 years of volunteering in clinical research in oncology, dental surgery, diabetes and weight loss. He also volunteered as a junior clinical research coordinator in a cancer hospital in India in 2011 and has had several volunteer positions in clinical research in Canada. He is an active member of ACRP/CRAC.
Suneet is a certified Clinical Research and Regulatory Affairs professional. He completed his formal education in Clinical Research and Regulatory Affairs from Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, Toronto. Thereafter he got his certifications from Association of Clinical Research Professionals and Regulatory Affairs Professional Society. Suneet has work experience in University Health Network, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto. He has pharmaceutical industry experience at Eli Lilly, Canada. Suneet has direct experience in formulating scientific concepts and study design, protocol compliance and quality assurance functions. During his regulatory affairs associate role he developed 360 degree perspective of drug development life cycle right from the concept to approval and marketing. Suneet has independently coordinated and managed phase II, III clinical studies and has delivered the scope of the project within the budget and deadlines. Suneet has a very friendly, warm and courteous demeanor and he loves to admire renaissance and baroque art.
Kim has been in the pharmaceutical industry since 1988, working at Big Pharma, CRO, a reimbursement firm and a communications firm so has a good perspective on the entire industry. Currently, she is running her own consultancy (McDonald-Taylor Consulting) offering services in medical writing , training, meeting facilitation, project management, knowledge translation and strategic planning. In her spare time she is involved with Girl Guides, enjoys downhill skiing, hiking, genealogy research, birding and photography. CRAC is a viable, energetic organization with exciting things planned. Kim hopes to see you at future meetings in Toronto, Montreal and Calgary as they are both informative and fun.
Vatche Bartekian founded Vantage BioTrials in 2007. Prior to this venture, he held several management positions with companies such as Pfizer, Covance, PPD, LAB Pharma, and MDS Pharma. He’s contributed his strong clinical drug development knowledge to the pharma and clinical research industry for over 17 years and has gained vast experience handling complicated trials across an array of therapeutic areas. He’s an expert in Clinical Operations, Project Management, Quality Assurance and Monitoring, and holds a B.Sc. in Biochemistry and a M.Sc. Administration. Mr. Bartekian is also the Chairperson (Montreal Chapter) of the Clinical Research Association of Canada and has held this position for several years. He is an active member of SQA (Society of Quality Assurance), CSPS (Canadian Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences), MAGI Clinical, and the Quebec Association of Clinical Research Nurses and Professionals. In addition, he sits on the Advisory Board for an innovative start-up company called Curebox, whose goal is to connect patients suffering from specific diseases to the right clinical trials for their needs, using a user-friendly platform. Natacha holds a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a Post-Doctoral fellowship in immunology. She obtained her clinical research professional certification at the Clinical Research Training Center. Natacha has experience in project management in clinical research as well as mentorship and supervision of research assistants, CRCs, CRAs, trainees and students.
Svet has 20+ years in the Research & Regulatory environment and 11+ years as Regional Branch Manager. He has over 6 years in quality management and experience in all clinical trial phases. Svet is the holder of a MSc in the biomedical field and a Post-graduate diploma in Marketing and Management. He is Founder and CEO of CRA School – Montreal and pro bono Coordinator of the Job Insertion Program at CFRC, a non-profit organization with the mission to facilitate the career reorientation of life science and health professions to the clinical research field.
Connor holds a Bachelor’s Degree with a Specialization in Pharmacology from the University of Alberta and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Technology from the University of Calgary. Connor has 3 years experience working for a contract research organization that manages Phase II/III trials in oncology.
