Blue Neustifter, senior statistician, McDougall Scientific

  • Blue Neustifter (she/her) is a senior statistician with McDougall Scientific, a Toronto CRO that specializes in pharmaceutical Phase I-IV clinical trials. Prior to McDougall, her years of statistical experience include work as a safety statistician with the US FDA and as a biostatistician for a major pharmaceutical company. Her statistical passions are finding ways to improve clinical trials and statistical communication, especially in ways that allow for better collaboration and information dissemination among statisticians and non-statisticians. In her work, she hopes to help elevate clinical trial design to allow more studies to achieve their full potential.

Alysa Langburt, Director Business Development, LMC Manna Research

  • Alysa Langburt has 15 years of international pharmaceutical industry experience. For the past 9 years, she serves as Director of Business Development for LMC Manna Research, North America’s largest fully owned research site network, where they operate 23 research sites across Canada. Alysa acts as the central point of contact between the research sites and their clients. Prior, she worked for ICON Clinical Research (CRO) in Canada, France and Australia on international clinical trials.  She is a big-picture, business-minder thinker with a talent for distilling complex situations into actionable output. Alysa also sites on the Board of Directors at the Habilitas Foundation in Montreal.

Rime Bahij, Laboratory Director, Head of Research, QNTM Labs

  • Rime is an analytical chemist specializing in natural products chemistry and bioactivity and has more than 10 years of dedicated research in both medical cannabis and industrial hemp. Prior to joining QNTM Labs, Rime was an Assistant Professor and Researcher at the University of Southern Denmark, where she was responsible for driving innovation within method development, equipment optimization, and advanced molecular data analysis. As a researcher, Rime participated in several national and international projects to further uncover the bioactivity and medical applications of natural products and medical cannabis. Rime holds a PhD focused in Biotechnology, from University of Southern Denmark, where she focused her publications and research in Natural Products and Analytical Chemistry.

David Champion, CEO and Founder of Maya, Director at Unlimited Sciences

  • David Champion was previously the Co-founder & CPO at Baker Technologies, which he exited after achieving a valuation of $250MM. David graduated summa cum laude in Architecture from Cambridge University and built a nonprofit to help Kenyan children access schooling. Brought up in Papua New Guinea, Portugal and Scotland, he began his career in New York with Daniel Libeskind, working on the Ground Zero masterplan. He has a decade of experience designing consumer software and his interests are behavioral data, digital art, user experience design, oil painting, and mindfulness. Following his involvement helping Denver become the first city to decriminalize psilocybin mushrooms, David is committed to helping advance safe and accessible psychedelic medicine on a global scale.

Jaspreet Grewal, Chief Executive Officer, Knowde Group Inc.

  • Jaspreet Grewal is an accomplished clinician, researcher and venture partner bringing over 15 years of experience to companies focused on the Life Sciences. Throughout her career, she has held several positions with increasing responsibilities in various healthcare rolesJaspreet holds a Master’s in Clinical Vision Sciences from Georgetown University, an Executive Certificate in Public Health from Harvard University and an Executive MBA from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has successfully merged her expertise and passion for innovation, research and finance to become a dynamic leader not only nationally but internationally. She is a published researcher with a therapeutic interest in ophthalmology, gastroenterology, dermatology, neurology, pain and rehabilitation, and a particular interest in knowledge translational. She has conducted numerous Phase I to IV clinical trials in both academic and industry settings. Jaspreet is the CEO and Co-Founder of Knowde Group, Board Director at BioAlberta, Entrepreneur in Residence at Innovate Calgary (Medical Cannabis) and the Global Lifesciences Consultant for Calgary Economic Development.
