Increasing Diversity in Clinical Trials AND Indigenous Led Community Based Research AND Overview of the FDA Guidance on Enhancing the Diversity of Clinical Trial Populations

November 26, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

(America/Toronto)    Free – $20.00

The need to increase diversity in clinical trials is well known.  There are unique barriers present for minority and underrepresented populations to participate in Clinical Trials: Culture, Mistrust, Awareness.

Join us on November 26 for a virtual meeting to discuss the issues.

We are honoured to have Adam Brown as our first speaker.  Adam is the CEO of ClinArk, a clinical consulting firm that helps sponsors and CROs execute feasibilities, and increase awareness and participation in clinical trials.

Our second speaker is Dr Carrie Bourassa.  We are thrilled and honoured to have her speak to the Indigenous issues around inclusion in research.  Indigenous research has never been more important.

JUST ADDED!!  3rd Speaker: Sabrina Ramkellawan will briefly present the NEW FDA Guidance: enhancing the diversity in clinical trial populations

Proceeds from this event will be donated to Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC).

Learning Objectives for the evening:

Adam Brown:

2. Attendees will understand the importance of learning about culture in clinical research when recruiting African Americans.
3. Attendees will understand the importance of simplifying informed consents and how this can increase trial participation.
