Decentralized Clinical Trials: 26 May 2022

First Presentation: A Canadian Framework for DCT (4:45 – 5:15)
Stephen Sundquist, Executive Director, Canadian Cancer Clinical Trials Network and Diana Kato, Manger Operations, Canadian Cancer Clinical Trials Network will speak about The Canadian Remote Access Framework for Clinical Trials (CRAFT) which helps enable clinical trial participation for patients who live far from the healthcare site where the trial is primarily offered.
Second Presentation: Lessons From Conducting 100% Virtual Trial (5:20 – 5:50)
Dimitri Fitsialos, founder of Integrated Therapeutic Solutions will provide information on the 100% virtual study ongoing currently. It has been an exciting trials with lots of lessons learned.
Third Presentation: A Site Perspective on DCT and Diversity (6:00 – 6:30)
Seneca Harrison, ECO Quality Clinical Research will speak to decentralized trials and diversity. They are currently involved in these trials which are enrolling indigenous participants. He will discuss the challenges and rewards.
Fourth Presentation: DCTs and Wearables (6:40 – 7:10)
Pierre-Alexandre Fournier, CEO at Hexoskin (Wearable Health Sensors & AI), will speak about wearables and share some information on clinical trials that utilize their wearable product.
Panel Discussion (7:10 – 7:40)
All Speakers plus a new addition Ted Trafford from Probity Research will lead an exciting discussion on DCTs. Ted has 27 years experience in clinical trials and is currently the Director of Business Development for Probity Medical Research, a large clinical trial site network with over 55 sites in Canada, US, Australia, Chile and Mexico.
This will be a HYBRID meeting – small number in person and the rest will attend virtually. For those attending in person, you must be vaccinated AND be masked for attendance. There will be finger foods as well as boxed hot dinners for each attendee.

- Study the CRAFT model to understand how DCTs can be utilized in the oncology space
- Discover how a 100% virtual trial works in the real world
- Explore diversity factors in DCTs
- Determine if wearables would work for your clinical trial by learning about Hexoskin’s experience
